Title of article: 11. The cognitive value of metaphor in teaching
Summary: Abstract: Metaphors can be used as a powerful tool in cognitive learning: By relating to the available experiences and familiar concepts with new and unfamiliar concepts, they can be used to create new and proper insights. Guiding students to create metaphors in teaching encourages students explicitly to make the comparison to the concepts or phenomena encountered. Psychological research and educational experiment of using analogies create metaphors produce the results that this approach has shown the effect on focusing on relational structures and result learning better than dissimilar approaches created by some teachers. Besides it is a useful tool for the process evaluation.
